I still have yet to post pics from vacation, but while we were in MA, my sister-in-law took some beautiful pictures of the boys. Life around here has been insane lately!! We were able to have some of my extended family from OH, NY, and Easton, PA come for a short visit. It was so nice to see them, even if it was for just a short time.

Sooooooo, stay tuned for a possible business venture. My sister and I are thinking of getting into a cake, cupcake, and confection type business - something we would do out of our own little kitchens :) I've had a few "orders" from Jason's co-workers, so I'm hoping that maybe we could make something of this. Here is a picture of the most recent cake I made:

So we will see what comes of it. Right now we are in the process of baking and decorating and taking photos for fliers/portfolios and such. I am someone who lacks lots of confidence, so I'm afraid this will crash and burn, but what will it hurt just trying to do something small out of our kitchens? Who knows, maybe some day we will have our own show on TLC {look out Buddy} - hey, a girl can dream, right? :)

Well, it's time to start thinking about what to make for dinner, but I wanted to post a few things since it's been awhile.

I just have to share one of the funniest things of our day. This morning, Landon brought out the little potty into the kitchen and said to Cole, "Today I am going to teach you how to go potty like a big boy." So, he took off Cole's shorts and his diaper and told him to sit on the potty. Cole did, however nothing ever came of it (which didn't surprise me...he just turned two). It was so cute and I thought that was the end of it. About 2 hours later, he says to Cole, "OK, it's time to try again." He then helped him take off his shorts and his diaper and made him sit on the potty again. This time Cole wanted to take the diaper off himself (I'm a little worried that he is now taking his diaper off by himself all the time...afraid of what mess I might walk into). It was pretty cute...I wish I had taken a picture of the two of them as Landon was trying to teach Cole how to go potty, but of course the camera wasn't nearby. I love these little moments :)

I know it's been awhile since I've blogged and I have lots to catch up on, but for now I wanted to post a great deal that I came across...a free large photobook from Picaboo (a $39 value). Gavin's First Experience With Rice Cereal

Today I gave Gavin rice cereal for the first time. He absolutely LOVED it!! I have never seen an infant eat it so well their first time!! He never tried spitting it out or anything (besides the bit leaking out of his mouth). He even started opening his mouth as I brought the spoon to his mouth...such a smart little boy! Here are a few pictures:

He is such a sweet boy! I have enjoyed him so much...I'm so thankful that the transition of going from 2 to 3 kids has gone so smoothly (better than I ever expected). I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that he is such a great baby. Of course we have our moments and there are {several} times where I want to pull my hair out because it gets so crazy around here, but I have found it much easier transitioning from 2 to 3 than when I went from 1 to 2 kids.

Well, that's all for tonight - it's late and I still have LOTS to do...my bedtime is getting later and later and the boys keep getting up earlier and earlier...UGH!! Who needs sleep anyways? :) At least all three of my boys sleep through the night and usually nap the same time during the day...I am very fortunate and blessed!!

Fun Times

With all of the "busy"ness and craziness of life now-a-days with 3 boys ages 3 and under, I often feel guilty that I can never get enough done - laundry, housework, cooking, baking, crafting/sewing, reading, gardening, etc. But most importantly, I always feel guilty for feeling as if I don't spend enough time with all of my boys. That is by far more important than any household chore or hobby (not to say that I don't think that "me" time is important...such as hobbies). With Gavin so little and still so dependent on me, I miss the time that I get to spend with my older two boys and often wonder if I make enough of a point to make sure I give them special one-on-one time. Yesterday I set aside all housework that needed to be done and we had a fun day doing stuff around the house...things that we don't do every day. First we pulled out some of my craft/scrapbooking items and we made birthday cards for daddy (whose birthday is today...but I'll get to that in a minute). They had SO much fun - especially Landon!! Cole had fun for about 5 minutes and then wanted to move on to something else...ahhh, the attention span of a 2-yr old. Anyways...it was a great bonding time for the boys and I...it was so enjoyable watching them be creative and have fun making their cards for daddy. Here are a few pictures:

Afterward, we cleaned up our mess and played a bit. Come lunchtime, we made our own little home-made pizzas. I rolled out little pizzas with pizza dough and let them "make" them themselves. Landon loved being a little "chef" :) Cole enjoyed eating everything rather than putting it on his pizza!! Here are pictures of the boys making their pizzas:

It was a fun day - we were also able to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather outside!! And I have to include a picture of Gavin because 1) he is just too cute to leave out and 2) he was so good and slept a LOT so that I could enjoy this time with the older two boys:

And lastly, I want to wish my handsome hubby, Jason, a Happy 35th Birthday!! Wow, I could go on and on about how wonderful he is! I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband who is such an incredible daddy to our sweet boys! I love him so much...he is truly my best friend and I could not imagine my life without him! He makes me laugh, he listens to me when I need to talk, he cares about me, he helps me out around the house, he takes the boys when I need a break...he's just a great guy! I'm sure he won't read this, but Jason, I love you!! Happy Birthday - looking forward to celebrating many, many, many more birthdays!

OK, this has been quite the post today (I've had to save it and come back a few times...ahhh, the life of a busy mom). We're looking forward to the long weekend and then VACATION!! Bye for now :)

First-Time Bowling

A few weeks ago, when Nana and Pops were visiting from MA, we decided to take the boys bowling for the first time. We thought Landon would LOVE it, however we weren't so sure about Cole...we figured he'd just run around the entire bowling alley giving us a good amount of exercise from chasing him. We were very surprised...he LOVED it!! I think he was even more excited than Landon (at least he showed his excitement a little more). They had so much fun and worked up quite the appetite (which sent Nana to the vending machine SEVERAL times to feed them). Here are a few pictures of our fun time at the bowling alley:

I wish I was able to get some pictures of the FRONT of them rather than their backs, but oh well...it was such a fun day with lots of memories made :)

I Love Saving Money!

I have been trying to get this couponing thing down over the past few months and while I wouldn't say I am one of those people who get $150+ groceries for like $30, I do feel that I have been saving money. I get so excited when I come home with such great deals. Tonight would be one of those times!! I went to Target and walked out with two bags and paid only $4.80. This is what I bought:

Scrubbing Bubbles Power Sprayer Shower Cleaner (reg. $8.69) - paid $.69
6 Renuzit Air Fresheners (reg. $.94 each) - paid $2.82 for all six
2 Airwick AquaMists (on sale for $1.99 each) - paid $.99 for two
1 Dental Floss (reg. $.97) - got $.03 credit

All that plus tax came to $4.80!! Savings of $15.93 (or so it says on my receipt). I was pretty happy :) I love finding great deals...and I LOVE TARGET!!!!! I also made a trip to Wal-mart for $.99 wipes, $.50 new Kraft sandwich mayo, $.50 Kraft salad dressing, plus a few other non-saving items. Of course, I spent more time waiting in line at the check-out than I actually did searching for my list items. Have I mentioned that I am NOT a fan of our local Wal-mart? I was so excited to have a new, expanded Wal-mart about a mile from my house, but it has not lived up to it's expectations in my opinion!! Thankfully, Target is just as close!!

Grilled Chicken

Yesterday I shared one of my favorite summertime desserts, so today I thought I'd share one of my favorite summertime meals. It's my favorite because 1) it's SOOOO yummy and 2) it's SOOOO easy!! We love to grill out a lot during the summer...several times a week at least! This "recipe" is something we eat A LOT!! It's so simple!! You just need chicken, Italian dressing mix, and zesty Italian dressing:

All I simply do is take the dry mix and rub it onto my chicken. Then I put it in a large ziploc bag and pour Zesty Italian dressing into the bag. I don't have any particular measurements because it depends on how much chicken you are using...so just eye it. I usually use one packet of dressing mix for about 4 chicken breasts and enough of the liquid dressing to cover it and marinate. I let it marinate most of the day. Then I take it out and grill it! It's so good!! Some of the things we like to eat it with are: rolls, corn on the cob, salad, rice...lots of possibilities!

Fruit Pizza

Fruit pizza is one of the most delicious desserts out there - it is my most favorite summertime dessert when it's topped with yummy fresh fruit!! We had it for dessert on Father's Day, but since it's such a favorite around here, I thought I'd post a pic with the recipe (the pic was from a previous time I made it):

FRUIT PIZZA

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (8-oz) package cream cheese
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Assorted fresh fruit

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 3/4 cup sugar until smooth. Mix in egg. combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Press dough into an ungreased pizza pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla until light. Spread on cooled crust.
Arrange desired fruit on top of filling, and chill.

NOTE: I used low-fat cream cheese and I thought it still tasted great...I may try fat-free cream cheese next time to save even more calories!!

Anyways...had to share one of my favorite dessert recipes - I wish I could eat this every day!!

Happy Father's Day

I want to wish every dad out there a VERY HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, but a special one to the three "fathers" in my life :)

To my dad, I am so thankful for such an amazing father who I respect, admire, and love so much!! He is such a compassionate and giving person. He is such a hard-worker and is always willing to help all of us when we need something done. He is a fantastic "grampa" (or "gampa" as Cole would say) to our sons. Our boys get SO excited when they get to spend time with him (and gramma too). I love watching him and Gavin "talk" to each other in their own special little language...so funny!! He is someone who makes us all laugh...I have many memories of laughing so hard until we are all practically crying!! I am so thankful for such a wonderful dad!

To my husband, my best friend and man of my dreams. He is such an incredible daddy to our three little boys. I always have such great joy watching him with our sons...putting them to bed at night, playing with them outside, wrestling with them in the basement, reading them books, taking them to special places...I look forward to watching more of those memories in years to come. He is so patient with them, so kind. He loves each of them so much and cares for their well-being. He is such a hard worker and great provider for our family. I'm so thrilled to see the special relationship he has with each of our boys...they all love their daddy!! I love you Jason and I'm so thankful for the amazing husband and father that you are.

To my father-in-law, someone we don't get to see as often as we like because of the miles that separate us. When he comes to our home, I might-as-well say good-bye to my boys because they LOVE the time they get to spend with their "Pop" :) He is such a kind, tenderhearted man who loves his kids and grandkids - they all have a very special place in his heart!!

I'm Back :)

Well, after taking a break from the blogging world, I think I'm going to try jumping back in! We'll see how long this lasts...my 3 little boys keep me very busy, so time at the computer is limited now-a-days!!

Lots has happened since I last blogged, so here is a whirlwind update. We welcomed our 3rd baby boy into the world on February 23, 2010...Gavin Scott.

He is such an angel baby!! He is very laid back, very content and happy most of the time, and such a sweet, sweet baby! The Lord knew I needed an easy one :) Especially with two other little boys so close in age! My labor with him is one I will never forget - the most intense, painful time in my entire life!! Thank goodness it went so quickly (I was in the L&D room for 37 minutes)...because it went so fast I could not have any pain meds, so he was born natural. We chose not to find out what we were having (although Jason apparently knew all along because he saw "something" on one of the million ultrasounds we had). I figured with our track record that we'd have another boy and I was right!! I love him to pieces...I couldn't have asked for a better baby!! He is now almost 4 months old and he's growing up WAY TOO FAST! In fact, it seems like they grow up faster and faster with the more kids you have!! I don't want him to grow up so quickly!! Cole just had his 2nd birthday...he is such a sweetie (when he's not screaming or fighting with his brother). He just had his doctor's appointment and he was in the 100th percentile for height...he is very tall!! He was in the 60th percentile for weight. He looks so different from his big brother with his light blond hair and bright blue eyes. He adjusted VERY well when Gavin came along which surprised us since he is such a mommy's boy!! He does very well playing on his own, but he loves to follow his big brother around and copy everything Landon does!! Here is a recent picture of him (on spaghetti night):

And then last, but not least, my big boy Landon!! Wow, that boy is growing up TOO fast!! He talks so "intelligently" for a 3.5 year old...and is sometimes TOO smart. He LOVES having a baby brother. He tells me every day how much he loves baby Gavin. He is also a good helper and big brother to Cole. He is such a funny little guy - always has the funniest expressions and funny faces!! He LOVES playing outside - especially baseball with daddy. Here is a recent picture of him (eating lunch...hence the food in his mouth, but such a nice picture otherwise):

So that is the update on my 3 boys. I think that's all I'll update for now - it's getting close to lunchtime and then NAPTIME...YAY :)

Birthday Cakes I've Done

So my friend referred me to the Birthday Cake Round-Up so I thought I'd post a few of the cakes I've done for my boys' birthday. I am by far no experienced cake decorator, but I enjoy trying to make the cakes for their birthdays :) The Curious George was my first cake, the Farm Animals my second, the Lightning McQueen my third, and the Jungle my most recent.

I can't believe it's been almost THREE months since I've blogged...summer has arrived and we are now busier than ever!! We spend so much time outside that I hardly have any time indoors anymore!! And you can tell, my house feels like a wreck :)

Wow, so much has happened in three months!! Cole turned ONE in June!!! I can't believe that my baby is already one!! He has days where he can be a difficult child, but I love that little boy to death and he is such a sweet boy with such a handsome smile!! I have a gazillion pictures from his birthday that I will try to post later.

We just got back from a day at the beach, Wildwood, NJ, on Friday. It was Landon's first time to the beach. He absolutely LOVED it!! He loved the water and he loved the sand - he didn't want to leave. He still asks to go back!! I was burnt so badly and now I look like a bright red strawberry, so I can't say that I wasn't glad to come home!! It was so fun watching Landon have such a blast though. Cole didn't enjoy it as much, but there isn't a whole lot he really enjoys now-a-days :) He did like playing in the sand, but he didn't like the water at all. I was surprised by that because he loves water...bathtime is his favorite!!

The boys are getting so big! Landon turned 2 1/2 in May...it's so hard to believe he will be THREE in November!! He talks so much and does so many different things that it is hard to remember that he is only 2 1/2!! He's a smart little cookie!! The things he comes up with keep laughter at a high in our household!!

We are still loving our new home...what a blessing!! It's been perfect for us!! The basement is finished for the most part, although we still need to add some trim and a few final touches. It's awesome having the extra space down there...the boys LOVE the playroom!! Once it is completely finished, I will post pictures.

This is so random, but I have to say one of my favorite things about summer is being outdoors, enjoying the flowers and the smell of grilling out!!! We have some nice shade in our backyard (wish I could say that about the front), so it's nice to send the boys out to play on their new swing set and just enjoy the outdoors :)

Well, I know I need to post some pictures soon, but the boys are finishing up their lunch and now it's time to clean-up. Hopefully I can get some pictures up before the next 3 months!!

Spring Fever

Well, I have a terrible case of SPRING FEVER!!! We had several nice days in a row and lately it's been a little cooler...I want spring back full-time!!! I am loving all of the pretty plants that are no blooming!!! Spring is one of my favorite seasons...fall being another!!

So, I missed my American Idol recap last week...things were a little busy around here!! Needless to say, I was not one bit surprised that Megan Joy was voted off. It was definitely her time to go!! So, last night...agh, so boring!! I was not very impressed with the night, however there were some great performances!! I have to do a quick recap because I have a fussy 10-month old. I'm not sure I will do this in the right order either. Danny started the show and he did OK, but it was most definitely not his greatest performance. Kris also did well, but once again, not his greatest performance. Lil, well, I think she will be leaving the show very soon - she has not done well the past several weeks and I would not be upset if she were voted off tonight. Scott, I thought he did OK, but I think he will be leaving soon also. Allison did VERY well, I was very impressed by her song!! There is a lot of hype about her probably being in the top two. I don't agree with that (yet), but I do think she sings well. Anoop was OK in my opinion. He did much better than the past few weeks, but I'm still not crazy about him. Matt was AWESOME - I loved it and I think he is definitely one of the strongest in the competition. And last but not least, Adam. I was so disappointed that I didn't get to see his performance because my DVR cut it off since the show went over it's allotted time. However, I watched it on YouTube this morning and I love that song and his version! He was HOT (voice, NOT looks) - that boy is such an incredible singer. He drives me crazy as a person, but he has won me over with his voice...such talent! So, in my opinion, the bottom three should be Lil, Scott, and Anoop. I think Lil should be the one to go home, but it's hard to say - we will see tonight.

Well, I had so much more I wanted to write, but I need to tend to my little hungry boy!! He was still sleeping when I started this post...I should've known better that I could make it through an entire post in peace and quiet :)

Sadie

We now have a new addition to our family - her name is Sadie and she is our 16-week old Chocolate Lab. I sometimes think we are still crazy for bringing a puppy into our new home, but we love her!! As some of you know, I am fine living without a dog (not saying I don't like them), but Jason REALLY struggled when we had to find a new home for our other dog, Smokey. When he really, really, really wanted a new puppy, I thought I'd be a good wife and be OK with it. So we brought Sadie home last Friday, March 27, 2009. Hey, at least there is another girl in this household...she may very well be the only girl we'll ever have - LOL!!! So anyways, here are a few pictures of Sadie:

I've gotta run - time to bring Sadie in :) I sure hope this potty training goes VERY quickly!!!

Motown week...blah

Well, I must say that I wasn't super crazy about A.I. last night...I mean, some people did well, others I could have cared less for. Here is my review on each contestant:

Matt - I really liked him a lot!! He is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I think he has had two great weeks in a row now and definitely one of the top contenders!!

Kris - I really like him a lot also!! I love the song he sang, "How Sweet It Is" - I absolutely loved it! I think he did a fantastic job and I hope he makes it very far in the competition.

Scott - Oh Scott. Well, I really like him as a person, but I don't think last night was one of his greatest performances. He is such a sweet guy and I really wish him the best, but though I think he may stick around for a few more weeks, I don't see him making it past the top four.

Megan - Wow, her performance was awful in my opinion...she has such a unique voice, but her song choice was terrible and she just did not do it well!! I would not be surprised at all to see her in the bottom three tonight!

Anoop - I thought Anoop did good...nothing to rave about, but he didn't do badly either. I am just not really on board the Anoop train - there is something about him that just rubs me the wrong way. Is it just me, or does he seem cocky at times?

Michael - Not a good night for Michael in my opinion. I really wasn't impressed with his performance at all and I would not be surprised to see him in the bottom three tonight.

Lil - Also a very disappointing performance. This should have been her week to shine, but as great of a singer as she is, she did not pick a great song nor did she sing it very well. Sadly, I think she may be in trouble. This is two weeks in a row now where I have not been super impressed by Lil which is a shame because I really liked her in the beginning.

Adam - What to say...well, I am not a big Adam fan because he is just weird, but WOW, that boy can really sing...he is AMAZING!! I much prefered this look (no nail-polish, dark eye-liner, etc), but I'm sure he will revert to his old look next week.

Danny - I love Danny!! I don't think this was his best week, but I still think he did well :) I think he will be in the competition for quite awhile!! I am definitely a Danny fan (and Matt and Kris fan!).

Allison - She was incredible...that 16-yr old has an incredible voice!! She did MUCH better this week than last week...what a way to end the show!! She should definitely be safe this week!!

So, my guess for the Bottom three would be Megan, Michael, and Lil...I think Lil will be safe, but it will be a tough pick between Megan and Michael...in my opinion :)

Anyways, American Idol aside...the basement is almost finished!! Well, it's almost there. The carpet is being installed as I type...they have almost got that in. The painting is all done (except for the trim) and it finally looks "finished" - I am very happy! I will try to post pictures soon.

Cole is really getting around now...he will walk around holding onto things - he is still a little wobbly, but goodness, he's only 9 1/2 months!!! He has climbed the stairs TWICE today...I was so shocked. I left the room for like 5 seconds and came back - he was on the 3rd step! He's too young to climb stairs! Time to get another gate up!!

Landon is being such a goof as always - I really need to type out my stories on here, but right now I don't have much time...it's crunch time. Still lots to do before everyone comes tomorrow...LOTS of cleaning...UGH!!!

To my fellow American Idol fans...last night was the end of the road for Alexis. I saw that one coming. Is it just me or did she really look/act like she could have cared less and like she really wasn't into the competition to begin with? I really think she could have done better, but it's a little too late now. I am VERY glad that the judges did no use their save on her...I have a feeling they will need to hold onto it later on.

Well, with that behind us, I have to share a link to my other blog that I use for Nana and Pops - I will occasionally post videos on there for them since they don't see their grandboys often (they live in MA). I posted a video on their yesterday of Cole and instead of loading it on this blog, I thought I would just give the link and you can watch it if you'd like. I found it quite humorous - but that's because I was so frustrated that day that I was either going to laugh or cry...and I laughed :) Read the description first before watching it (before you assume I am a terrible mother). Jason and my dad are making great progress on the basement - most of the electrical is finished, so it's about time to start drywalling. They are hoping to knock out quite a bit this weekend - I'm praying that they get lots done, especially since everyone is coming next weekend to visit and they will need a place to stay!!! It's going to look great - they've done a great job!! Here are a few updated pictures of what they've gotten done.

American Idol Review

So, to all of my fellow American Idol fans...once again - another great night, well, for most anyway! I'm not a huge country fan, so I was a little worried about last night - I didn't know like any of the songs. But here is how I thought everyone did (hopefully I get the right order and don't miss anyone):

Michael - He did average...he's not someone who is really standing out to me in the competition and I don't think he'll make it very far. I was a little surprised to see him make it into the Final 13.

Allison - I thought she did OK, I honestly don't remember what she sang. She definitely has a great, powerful voice! She's very young and I know that even if she doesn't make it very far in this competition, she'll go somewhere!

Kris - I really like him and I thought he had a great song choice last night!! He has a great voice and I really like him as a person! I hate to say though that I don't really see a WOW factor in him...but maybe it will come through soon! He seems like such a sweet guy!

Lil - I've liked Lil in the past, but I thought last night did not do her any favors. She can really sing, but that was a terrible song choice for her!! I was not impressed at all and think she might be in trouble this week.

Adam - CREEPY!! His song, his appearance, everything about him creeped me out. I really think he has a great voice and can sing, but even though I know I shouldn't judge, there is just something about him that makes me so uncomfortable!! Needless to say, I thought he did terrible last night - the entire thing was just WEIRD! I agree with everything Simon said about him!

Scott - What a sweetheart...that boy is genuine and really sings from the heart. I thought he did great! Is he the best singer? No, but like I said earlier, he really sings from the heart and he's the real deal - such a sweet guy. I can't imagine how much "extra" work he puts in each week and still comes out with a smile on his face and reaches everyone's hearts through his songs!

Alexis - Ever since Hollywood, she has been very unimpressive in my opinion. I think she is a decent singer, but she doesn't really seem to be into it and she has NOT been doing well. I think she might also be in trouble this week.

Danny - LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM!! I think they should end the season now and make him the next American Idol. If you can't tell, I am a huge Danny fan! He may not have started the verses out great, but he really nailed that Carrie Underwood song. I really like Danny a lot and I think he will definitely make it to the Final Two, if not win it all!

Anoop - Anoop, Anoop, Anoop (what a cool name). Well, I'm not sure what to say. He did great last night and I really did like him in the beginning of the season, but he seems to be getting really cocky which is a huge turn-off for me. I don't know...I'm just not sure what to think of him, but he did do well last night.

Megan - {{chuckle}} I have to laugh because she has got the weirdest "dance" - she does the same thing EVERY week and it's getting really awkward and old!! What a trooper though for coming out and singing as well as she did while battling influenza!! I thought she sang well. I like Megan because she has a very unique voice, but I could REALLY do without the ginormous tattoo and he weird dancing!

Matt - He is definitely becoming one of my other favorites...I thought he nailed it last night - I really enjoyed his performance!! I loved him at the piano and I thought he did such a great job!! I think he will make it pretty far in this competition...he just brought Danny and Adam some competition (I still don't agree with how great everyone thinks Adam is, but whatever).

So those are my thoughts in a nutshell...I think they need to put me on the judge's panel - right next to hottie Simon :) I really don't care for the new judge AT ALL!! She really irks me and just rubs me the wrong way!!

Well, I've gotta run - it's been a VERY long day so far and it's only 1:00!! I have a very fussy 9-month old who has refused to take a nap for over a week now, unless it's in bed next to me, which I do not encourage whatsoever. I've only allowed it twice just to keep my sanity, but he really needs to learn to nap in his crib. Right now he is up there crying - HOPEFULLY he will fall asleep soon :)

Rough week!

So, I hate to complain and sound so ungrateful, but this has been quite a rough week!! Cole has decided that he does not want to nap...today has been Day 5 of 15-minute naps...and some of those days I was lucky if he even took a 15-minute nap! It has been pretty frustrating, especially since he was taking two naps a day - about 1.5-2 hours each!! He is sleeping through the night, like he always has, so I am thankful for that. However, I feel like I get hardly anything done during the day and I don't get to spend as much time with Landon. I finally caved in and just started putting him in his crib during his usual naptime. Most of the time he cries/whines and not once did he ever fall asleep on his own. I have a very strong-willed child!! He cried/whined for almost an hour once. And yes, I did check on him to make sure he was OK - he was fine...fed, diapered, and had toys to play with. I feel like a mean mommy sometimes, but I don't want to lose my sanity and this child needs to learn that he can't always control me. So, thank goodness the weekend is here and Jason will be able to help!! I am very burned out and tired after this long week!!

Last night, my family came over again to help with the basement...YAY!! It is coming along and I am so excited! The entire basement is pretty much framed except for one small wall underneath the stairs. I will try to get some pictures of the progress they are making.

On a side note, I want to give a shout-out to Ginny...THANK YOU!!! She helped me clean up the look of my blog...she's quite the blogging genius :) I would love to do so much more with it, but I don't have much time to play around with it and she was able to fix my picture and help me figure out how to fix the background on my posts!!

Well, I've gotta run - Landon is begging for some attention!!

It's been awhile...

I know it's been quite awhile - these past few weeks have been C-R-A-Z-Y!!!! Both of the boys were really, really sick. Landon started out first with a really deep chest cough - no other symptoms. It ended up getting so bad that he was throwing up after every cough. So I took him in and they said he had a really bad respiratory infection. Well, then he had a high fever for the next 3 days (103.4) that we couldn't get to come down. So on Sunday, his pediatrician put him on an antibiotic right away since he had really worsened!! It seemed to do the trick and he's finally back to himself (about 2 weeks later). And then Cole got the exact same thing...about 2 days after Landon started with it - so they both had it at about the same time. Cole was at the doctor's twice and his fever spiked to 104.8 (very scary). The poor thing was so lethargic - it was so hard to watch. He had the same thing, but he also had a double ear infection and to complicate things, his two top front teeth popped through!! So it was a really rough couple of weeks. We got hardly any sleep and it was just really, really stressful!! Thank goodness it's behind us!! Here are two pics of my sick little guys...I felt so bad for them - just looking at these pictures makes me want to cry!

We are now in the process of finishing our basement!! We planned to finish it shortly after moving in, but Jason's family is coming at the end of the month, so there's been a big push to get it finished quickly!! I'm not sure we will have it all finished, but hopefully enough done for them to stay down there! Jason, my dad, and my brothers and brother-in-law have been working really hard!!! I will post pictures on the progress. This is what it looked like before they started (well, plus a few studs - I forgot to take pictures before they went up). I am REALLY looking forward to it being done! There is going to be a playroom down there which I am so excited about! Right now I have toys scattered all over my kitchen, family room, and living room! I can't wait for most of them to be downstairs! The basement isn't huge, but it will be nice to have some extra living space :) Here are a few pics:

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

I LOVE Oatmeal Raisin cookies, but I've tried several recipes and just haven't found one that I've fallen in love with...until today!! I decided to try a new recipe and they turned out great!! They are so soft and moist and chewy...my mouth waters just talking about them :) Here is the recipe:

Whisk together and set aside

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Cream wet ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

Then stir in

3 cups oats (not instant)
1 1/2 cups raisins

Preheat oven to 350°.
Whisk dry ingredients; set aside.
Combine wet ingredients with a hand mixer on low.
To cream, increase speed to high and beat until fluffy and the color lightens.
Stir the flour mixture into the creamed mixture until no flour is visible.
(Over mixing develops the gluten, making a tough cookie.) Now add the oats and raisins; stir to incorporate.
Fill cookie scoop with dough.
(Use a #40 cookie scoop; it measures 2 tablespoon of dough) Press against side of bowl, pulling up to level dough.
Drop 2-inches apart onto baking sheet sprayed with nonstick spray.
Bake 11-13 minutes (on center rack), until golden, but still moist beneath cracks on top.
Remove from oven; let cookies sit on baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.

I did make a few modifications. First, I didn't have dark brown sugar, so I just used light brown sugar. Also, I didn't use a cookie scoop - I just used a tablespoon and shaped them into balls - I fit 12 on one cookie sheet...they were a little smaller, but it made about 5 dozen! Also, since they were smaller, I only baked them for 8 minutes.

American Idol anyone?

So, in case you didn't know, I am an American Idol addict (and an Office addict, but that's an entirely different subject). I must say that I am already hooked on this season. I am not crazy about the first few weeks of auditioning in different cities, but once the finalists reach Hollywood, I'm glued!!! I think there is definitely some real talent there this year - it should be a good one. However, there were some people that they put through to the Final 36 that should NOT have been put through...namely Tatiana, Nick Norman (or whatever his name is today), and Nathaniel Marshall (the gay drama queen). I'm not sure I can stand another week of these three...they can't sing and they are SOOOOO annoying. I'm sure the only reason they were put through was for the ratings!! I was very sad to see Jamal (or Jamar...not sure his name) go home...he was definitely a good singer...by far much better than the three previously mentioned! Anyways, I am looking forward to a very exciting season!! It will be nice since there are only a few more episodes of The Bachelor (my other favorite reality TV show). I'm really not a TV junkie :)

On a separate note, Jason took the day off today! YAY!!! He had taken it off awhile ago, but just told me yesterday. He was going to keep it a surprise, but I had such a rotten day yesterday that he told me then so that it would help brighten up my day. It's been nice having him home, especially since the boys have been extremely difficult AGAIN today!! I'm not sure what is going on with them, but the past two days have been miserable...they have been a little more than I can handle.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day - YAY!!! I'm not sure what Jason has planned - he's keeping it a surprise. I'm just looking forward to getting away with him without the boys...I don't care if we just go to McDonald's :) Yesterday, Landon and I made a big heart-shaped cookie and we decorated a Valentine...well, I put it together, but had Landon decorate it.

Well, Landon is driving Jason up a wall, so I better go rescue him - I bet right now he is wishing he was at work...I know I do :)

YAY Uncle Dathan!

Last night we went to Lancaster for my brothers' basketball game. It was a rough game and we ended up losing. We have a very strong team this year, but one of our best players is out with an ankle injury and we just couldn't pull off the win last night. BUT, my brother Dathan (who scored his 1,000th point last year as a junior) broke the school record in high scoring!!! CONGRATULATIONS DATHAN!! We are so proud of him :) He is now at 1,513 points! It was such an awesome moment and a huge accomplishment for him! He is currently the leading scorer in our county and he's had a great year!! Last night, his fellow teammate, Jason Carman (also a senior) scored his 1,000th point with 1.8 seconds left in the game - it was incredible!!! Jason was the 3rd guy on their team to reach 1,000 points. Josh Conover, another senior (who is out with an ankle injury), was the 2nd to reach his 1,000 points. To have three guys on a team reach 1,000 points while playing together is a rare trifecta (according to Reading Eagle - our local newspaper). Anyways, I thought I'd put up some pictures from last night...I didn't get many good pictures during the game, but I got a few "still" photos :)

Cookie Fun

Yesterday, Landon made sugar cookies with me for the first time. We had so much fun!!! I was surprised how well he did! He cut out the cookies, put them on the cookie sheet and after I frosted them, he put the sprinkles on! After he would cut out a cookie, he would get so excited and say "YAY!" - it was so cute!! We were about halfway through and he looked at me and said, "Landon having fun!" (he still talks in 3rd person!). Anyways, he got quite messy and it was hard to keep him away from the cookie dough...he's just like his mommy!! He was so desperate for it that at the end, he was eating it off of the rolling pin - as if he were eating corn on the cob :) I thought I would post a few pictures of our fun time making cookies:

I look forward to many more memories of making cookies with Landon and someday Cole...when he's old enough :)

Wow, it's been a long time since I've blogged...and SOOOOOOOO much has happened!! I have no clue where to begin and if I can remember all that's happened!! I'll try to go through everything - short version!

So, we sold our house! It sold in 10 DAYS!!!!!! How amazing is that? God is sooooo good...we never imagined it would sell that quickly! We were in no rush to buy a home, but we figured since it was a good time to buy, we'd test the market and see if our house would sell. We had a figure in our mind of what we wanted to sell our house for and it's exactly what we got! So, the buyer ended up needing to close on our house within less than 30 days!! So we quickly (VERY quickly) packed up our house and moved in with our parents. In the meantime, we found a house that we fell in love with. We made an offer with a moving date of December 12th. She countered with a moving date of MARCH, but offered several thousand more in seller's assist. We knew we'd be having to live with my family anyways because we closed on our house November 24th. So, we accepted her counter-offer. Three days before we closed on our house, the seller of our new home called and said she could settle in December and would still give us the money for seller assist - as if we were going to close in March!! WOW - what an answer to prayer!! So, since we were so close to December, we moved our closing date to December 19th, everything went VERY smoothly with our mortgage and here we are in our new home!!! That is the VERY quick story :)

We stayed with my parents from November 22nd until December 19th and it actually went very well. They have an entire finished lower lever in their home that is empty, so we basically had it all to ourselves. It was very nice to have that privacy, but also very nice to be near them at the same time...live-in babysitters isn't necessarily a bad thing!! Landon LOVED seeing his uncles and grandparents every day!! It was nice staying with them, but we missed having a place to call our home!

We've been in our new house for a few weeks now. We are still unpacking - it is very hard to get much done during the day with two little ones, but we are slowly making progress. It will be nice once everything is finished. The house doesn't need much work - just making it ours...paint and such. The basement is unfinished and we plan to finish that soon. In the future, we also plan to add on to the second level since it is only a 3 bedroom house right now. But it's perfect for us for the timebeing. Well, I have missed several things, but Cole is sitting here crying and Landon just woke up and is calling me from his crib! I have so much more I want to write, but will have to save it for another time!! Gotta run!!

Today is Landon's 2nd birthday! It's so hard to believe my little boy is already TWO!! He is growing up so quickly! I am so thankful for how precious he is and thank God for blessing us with this healthy handsome boy!

On Saturday, we had a small birthday party for him with our families. He wanted a Curious George birthday and I must say that it was SOOOOO cute :) The decorations and paper products we found were so colorful and cute! For the food, we did a "M is for Monkey" theme and tried to have the entire menu made with foods that started with the letter "M" - we had Meaty Manwiches (sloppy joes), Macaroni and Cheese (baked macaroni and cheese), Mozzarella Sticks, Monkey Munch, and Munchies (fruit, veggies, and chips). And then I made a Curious George cake :) I thought it turned out well and I am so glad it is done :) Anyways, I posted several picture on facebook, so here is a link to them:

He received some AWESOME gifts! Lots of Curious George things - stuffed animals, books, band-aids, snack. He also LOVES Thomas, so Nana and Pop-pop got him lots of Thomas things - including a nice wooden track! He got a tractor, a tractor trailer that stores matchbox cars, clothes, some fun sticker activities and last but not least, a FOUR WHEELER! My family pitched in and got this for him. He loves it and surprisingly drives it very well - it didn't take him long to pick it up! He still has a hard time reversing, but otherwise, he drives it very well!

Well, I better close this - he wants to go to McDonald's for his birthday lunch, so we are leaving shortly. Daddy took the day off (YAY) to spend with Landon and all of us, so we are going to go to lunch soon and then try to get stuff done. I'll write another post some other time to update the house situation!!

It is not a very pleasant day today...I could use some sunshine! It is very cold and rainy! I'm sitting here waiting for some pics to upload on snapfish, so I thought I would update my blog since it's been a little while.

As nasty as it is outside, I have to say that I LOVED the drive to my mom's house today. They live down in a valley, and on the drive down where the roads are covered by trees, it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL seeing the many different colors...I love fall!! I don't like when they all fall off and everything goes brown though :(

Some big news...we put our house up on the market about 10 days ago! So far we have had 3 showings and one offer (which we are currently praying about and pursuing a counter-offer). God has been amazing...we never thought things would go this well! We are in no NEED to move so therefore we aren't in any rush, so we figured it would take awhile to sell or have any sort of activity. We'll see what happens...decisions, decisions, decisions.

We carved pumpkins with Landon the other night - it was SO much fun! I will have to upload some pics soon! He loved taking out the pumpkins "guts" - he was a little hesitant at first to put his hand inside, but once he saw Jason and I doing it, he had to do it too!!

Speaking of Landon, he will be TWO in just a couple of weeks! My boy is getting so big :( He talks SOOOOOO much now and tries to copy anything and everything you try to say! We really have to watch what we say in front of him...you know how foul-mouthed we can be - j/k lol!!! My worst offense was when I was changing his diaper one day, it was REALLY nasty and I quietly (so I thought) said to myself, "Holy poop batman!" - for days he ran around the house saying "Holy Poop batman!!!" It took awhile to get him to stop saying that...and I haven't said it since :)

Cole is doing better - he's not as fussy all the time anymore. When he is well fed and well rested, he is a very pleasant and happy baby! He is starting to giggle now...I love it :) He's been eating solids (rice cereal and some fruits and veggies) for a couple of weeks now. He is doing SO well on them!! Of course he makes such a mess, but it's fun nonetheless!

Both boys are sick with bad colds right now - it hasn't been very much fun, but hopefully they will both be better soon. Believe it or not (knock on wood) they have been sleeping well at night even with their coughing and stuffy noses!! It's been nice...hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!

4-month check-up

Cole had his 4-month check-up today and it went really well! He got his shots and he definitely did not like them very much, but he survived :) The doctor is very pleased with his development and how well he holds his head up and commented on how she wishes she had his abs (when you lay him on his back, he does crunches very well for a 4-mo old!). Anyways, here are his stats - I'll put Landon's 4-month-stats below so you can compare...Cole is a much bigger boy!

Cole:
Height: 26 in
Weight: 16 lb 3 oz
Head: 17 1/4 in

Landon @ 4 months:
Height: 24 1/2 in
Weight: 14 lb 1 oz
Head: 16 3/4 in

Anyways, we are now going to start him on fruits and veggies...yay! We started him on cereal a couple of weeks ago and he does really well with that!! As far as sleeping, it's been so off-and-on. Some nights he'll sleep 10 hours, other nights he's up 2-3 times!! We're trying to figure out what's making him so inconsistent. He's still not a great napper. He catnaps most of the time except in the afternoon...his afternoon nap is pretty long.

Well, here are a few pics of Cole from this past weekend - we went to Weaver's Orchard for a Fall Festival. Most of the pics we took are of Landon, but since this post is mostly of Cole, I'll put his pics in and try to upload more of Landon later.

The first one is a little girly, but I absolutely love his blue eyes, so I had to put it in :) He wasn't thrilled to be around the pumpkins so no smile there, but he was giving us lots of smiles around the mums like in the last picture!

Well, I have LOTS and LOTS of cleaning to do - our realtor is coming tonight to do a walkthrough in our home. We are going to try to sell and move closer to my parents, so pray that the whole process goes smoothly and that the house will sell!!!!! Off to clean...

I just had to write something about this :) When Cole was born, they gave me a hospital bag full of goodies. Well, when we got home, it got pushed to the side and I just recently went through it. Well, in it was a Schick Intuition Plus razor. I had seen these advertised on TV, but it just looked like it would be uncomfortable. I have sensitive skin and it looked like a razor shaving with bar soap (which really bothers my skin). Well since I got a free one, I thought I would go ahead and try it out. OH MY GOODNESS - it is one of the greatest inventions ever made for women!! I don't think I can or ever will go back to another razor!! I loved it...it's so convenient and so comfortable...it didn't bother my skin one bit!! I just had to share! I'm sure the only bad thing will be the expensive refills, but I have yet to buy a refill, so we'll deal with that when the time comes!

Last Friday, August 22, my little sister got married :) It was a gorgeous wedding and a very fun day!! We are all still pretty exhausted, but we are recovering! Landon was the ring bearer. We didn't think he would go down the aisle, but he was fantastic and everyone thought he was adorable! He did such a great job!! He was so worn out from a long day of getting ready, taking pictures, and the actual ceremony and reception! He is finally back to himself today after a crazy weekend! Here is a slideshow of pictures I took from the fun day!

On Saturday, we had a family reunion with my dad's side of the family since most of them were here for the wedding! It was so nice to spend time with them - we don't get to see them all often. I have pictures from that day too, but they are still on my camera!

I have absolutely had it with my crock pot!!! Grrrr...I think this crock pot is of the devil. I don't know if I just have a faulty one or what, but it has been burning my meals or making them REALLY well done!! And I don't even cook them the full cooking time. So to all of you cooks out there, I would LOVE a new crock pot recommendation before I go buy one and get frustrated with that one too :)

What a big boy!

Cole had his 2 month appointment on Tuesday and wow, has he grown!! He weight 7 lb 11 oz at birth and was 21 inches long. Now he weighs 12 lb 9 oz and is 23.5 inches long!!! He's a good eater :) :) I still think he is a little peanut, but that's probably because I'm comparing him to how big Landon is right now!! Landon was the same height at his 2-month check-up, but was only 11 lb 7 oz. Anyways, Cole had a GREAT check-up and got a clean bill of health :) He had his shots and I was so proud of him - he only cried for like 20 seconds and then that was it! He handled it SO well! His legs are a little sore, but he is being such a good baby!

He's also slept through the night for two nights now!! I've put him down at about 9:30/10:00 and he's slept until about 5:30 each morning! YAY!!! I am VERY happy about that! I hope it stays this way! He's been extra sleepy since his shots, so maybe that's why, but maybe he'll start doing this permanently!

I need to post some pictures, but I don't have much time and the pictures aren't even uploaded onto the computer.

Landon got his haircut in the salon for the first time last Friday. I've just done it at home before, but it's pretty stressful and always comes out uneven, so since he's in my sister's wedding next Friday, we decided to take it somewhere. He was FANTASTIC!! I'll have to upload pictures later.

Well, Landon has gone up the stairs and is probably going to start torturing his sleeping baby brother, so I better end this now!! Hopefully I'll be back soon with pictures!

Trying a new look...

As you can see, I've been trying to fool around with our blog a little. I still have a LOT to learn, but I figured it was time for a new look! Thanks Nicole for helping me get a good start on making my blog look better!

Today Landon is at gramma's house and I am home with Cole today. Jason's parents are coming this weekend, so there is a lot to do!! I miss my little boy, but it's nice to only have one child today so that I can get some cleaning done before they come!!!

We are doing well...Landon is still adjusting to having Cole around. It has been frustrating at times. He is doing things that he never did before Cole was born. I don't know if it's the terrible two's starting early or if it's just because he's adjusting to not being the only child anymore or a combo of both. Whatever it is, we are praying it goes away quickly!! I'm starting to fear that I may have a violent child :) He just seems rough with Cole and thinks that it is now OK to throw toys. No matter how many times we scold and punish him, he's still doing it. We are trying to be consistent, but as of yet, we haven't seen much of a change! So pray that we stay consistent and that Landon would learn quickly!!

I'm sorry for not posting the announcement of our newest addition...but here I am, almost a month and a half late :) Colton (Cole) David was born on June 11, 2008 at 1:05 pm after 2o hours of labor!! I was induced with him at 5:00 on June 10th, but he decided to wait as long as he could before making his grand appearance. He is a beautiful healthy little guy. He's already about a month and a half and it's amazing how much he has changed! Having two boys under the age of two has been quite a challenge, but also such a blessing! Landon had a hard time adjusting, but he is slowly getting better! My mom is a tremendous help in watching the boys on occasion during the week.

This is going to be a short post because I have so much to do and my time at the computer is so rare now-a-days, but I wanted to post at least something!! Here are a few pictures of our little guy during his first few days of life :)

So the end is in sight...YAY!!! I am scheduled to be induced on Tuesday at 3:00 pm. Of course, I am really praying that he comes on his own before then because I really don't want to be induced! But at the same time, it's the way it is - because of the complications, I can't go pass my due date, so we don't have any other options. Just pray that everything goes safe and smoothly!!

I know, we should be in church right now, but Landon is pretty sick - we are actually off to the doctor's soon...he has a TERRIBLE chest cough and it's pretty bad today. Hopefully it's nothing big, especially with the baby coming in just a few days and I won't be able to stay home to take care of him.

So, to sum it up...please pray for us!! Pray for the arrival of our little guy - that everything will go smoothly! Pray for Landon as he is really sick. Also pray for Jason's family - we found out yesterday that his grandmother will most likely not make it through the weekend. There are a lot of things going on right now and it's very overwhelming when your 9+ months pregnant, so we would REALLY appreciate your prayers. The heat wave doesn't help either, but I must thank God for air conditioning :) I don't know how else I would be surviving right now!

Well, I know this is short - but I wanted to send a quick update. We've gotta leave soon to take Landon in. I'll try to post more later - maybe post-baby :)

Almost a family of four!

The wait is finally almost over...just a little over 2 weeks until our second little guy is going to make his appearance!! For all of you who still read this, we'd really appreciate your prayers for the next few weeks and labor/delivery. We've run into a few complications (which I won't bore you with details), but we are confident that God is in control and we are trusting Him that everything will go smoothly!! Because of the complications, I've had to be monitored closely each week, so it's been kinda fun seeing him at our ultrasounds...our last ultrasound showed lots of HAIR!! It was so amazing to see...it looks like he might come out with a mullet :) j/k The scary part is that he is measuring ahead, so it looks like another big baby!! And the ultrasound tech AND the doctor commented on how he has a big head...OUCH!!!

It's been so long since I've posted - I almost forgot my username and password!! I figured I'd get a post in with pics of Landon before I have to start posting baby pics and pics of the two of them :) I have to agree with many others though, I hate uploading pics to blogger...we have high-speed, but it's still a pain!! I wish there were a way to upload multiple pics and not just one at a time!! Anyways, here are a few recent pics of Landon:

OK, I ran out of patience...and pictures! I don't have very many recent ones (my camera is packed in my hospital bag!). I have some good ones on my camera now, but I haven't uploaded them on my computer yet. I will post more when I have time!

Landon is growing up way too fast - I say that every time!! He is quite the talker!! And he is so full of expression...the funny faces this little boy makes just crack us up!! He is quite the little entertainer and we just love him to pieces!! We're hoping and praying that he adjusts well to having a new little brother. He is so sweet with other babies at church, but I'm sure it will be different having one around 24/7. So we'll see. I look forward to seeing how it will go (although I'm sure there will be days where I'll wonder what on earth we were thinking).

Jason's job is going well...we are thankful for a good, secure job. I am pretty much finished at AAA, so I'm looking forward to the break. It was very nice though to have a job where I could go in one day a week. I will have my hands full with two little boys though, so I'm glad how it all worked out.

To all my co-fans, I'm so sad that American Idol is over :( I figured from the beginning that it was going to come down to the two David's. I can honestly say that I didn't really care who won - there were different things that I liked about each one. I will miss watching Simon - he is the highlight of that show :) I must make a confession to a new show that I've become addicted too and I'm almost embarrassed to admit it...The Batchelorette. I usually don't get into those kinds of shows, but my sister and I had watched the season of The Bachelor where Deanna was one of the girls that ended up being rejected in the end, so now that she is the Batchelorette, I just had to watch it :) So we'll see...it's still so new that I don't have any particular favorites yet.

Well, I better get going - I should go run some laps to see if this child will come!! I've been dilated for over 2 weeks now with not a ton of progress, so I would love for all of that to change...even TONIGHT!!!! I will try to keep everyone posted :)

I'm sure some people were starting to wonder since we haven't updated our blog since last year...seriously :) So, belated Happy New Year!! Oh goodness, I keep thinking one of these days life will slow down and I will be able to be a better blogger, journal-writer, house-wife, etc.

We are doing very well!! Our "little" Landon is growing up so quickly!! He is such a joy! He is starting to talk now...he loves to say "Amen" "Thank You" "Mama" "Dada" "Please" and he's pretty good at saying my family's names. He also loves to make animal noises: oink, moo, nay, and woof. He's a smart cookie :) He is so active - he does not like to sit still for very long.

Our other little one is doing well too...we found out last Thursday that Landon is going to have a little BROTHER!! We are very excited and hope that they will be great buddies. We were fine either way (boy/girl), but since they will be so close in age, we are happy that it is a boy. Everything looks fantastic! He has been VERY active...I don't remember Landon moving around so much this early in the pregnancy!

We have been busy with lots of different things, particularly going to my brother's basketball games. We have really enjoyed watching their games this season - it has been great. Dathan is only 41 points away from reaching 1000 career points...and he's only a junior! We are hoping he does it this year, but if not, he has another whole year ahead of him - Lord willing!! They have at least 3 more games left, and then whatever games they make it to for Districts. It will be exciting! Last night he had his game high of 24 points!! We are very proud of how well Jordan has done too! He is only a freshman (on a team of very good players) and he has had LOTS of playing time. He is a very good ball-handler and has been a great 3-point shooter!!

I really need to post some pictures on here, but in all honesty, I haven't been snapping too many lately!! Landon is always on the run and I can hardly get him to sit still long enough for a picture. I will try though and hopefully I can get some new pictures up on my next post (which will hopefully come before next year!).

Well, Landon is sleeping, so I am going to take advantage of this quiet time and get some MUCH-NEEDED cleaning done!! I have been praying for weeks now that we wouldn't have any drop-in guests because the house is a wreck...literally!! It's so embarrassing...I can't believe how behind I've gotten.

Yesterday's Appointment

Yesterday the three of us went to my OB appointment. I am at a new doctor now (horrible experience with the last doctor) and I absolutely LOVE them! Anyways, the appointment went very well...YAY!! The doctor said I was the healthiest person they had seen all day! Everything looks great - the baby's heart rate was 150bpm - I don't remember Landon's ever being that low!!! We still won't have an ultrasound for awhile, but I still enjoy going to hear the heartbeat!! So far, so good!!

We have a case of the sickies in our house - so far just Landon and I have it. The whole cold/ear thing...NOT FUN!! I am really looking forward to the weekend so Jason will be home to help out with things. It's a little overwhelming when you are pregnant and sick and trying to take care of a sick baby.

Well, I better run - I'm going to play with the little guy before his next nap. It's snowing outside, so he's enjoyed watching the snow come down!! Have a great weekend everyone!

Updates and Landon's Birthday

ARGH - I am so frustrated with slide.com - I had put together a whole slide show of Landon's birthday pictures and I had uploaded all the photos and entered captions. I accidentally clicked on one of the links on the page and when I went back, the whole slide show was GONE. It's not worth doing it again...it took too long :) So here is a link to my Facebook pictures if you are interested...click HERE.

Anyways, life here has been so busy!! We've had family in and out for most of the month - it's nice to have things back to "normal" :) I feel so behind though - my house is a mess and I need to go grocery shopping, but I just have absolutely no energy to do anything :) I can't wait to be completely out of the first trimester...which is very soon!! I am 12.5 weeks - YAY!! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow - just a quick check-up, so hopefully all will go well. At my last check-up, the baby's heartbeat was 168 bpm. I've been sicker with this one, but it still hasn't been terrible, so I can't complain. I think the worst has been smells. I absolutely CANNOT handle looking at and smelling raw meats, ESPECIALLY chicken!! So it makes cooking very hard!! I am so thankful for a very patient husband who has been willing to help me out and who has not complained when I've served frozen dinners on night's that I couldn't handle cooking :)

Landon is such a joy. He is all over the place...I think he went from crawling to RUNNING!! He tires me out just watching him! He is learning so many new things and is beginning to "try" to talk. It's so fun!! He is still a long little peanut - he was in the 30th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for length at his last doctor's appointment. I think he walks all of his food off!! His favorite latest thing is when you say TOUCHDOWN, he will throw his two arms up in the air like the referees do on TV. It is hilarious!! He also LOVES to make lots of funny faces...he is quite the entertainer.

I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner - this year has flown by! I was so excited to have gotten pretty much ALL of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday. We just need to get a gift for Jason's dad, but otherwise, we are FINISHED!! Oh, and maybe a few more things for Landon if I find some good deals :) I have loved getting into the Christmas spirit this year. Since Landon was a newborn last year and we were adjusting to being new parents, I didn't really pull out all of my decorations and such. So this year has been fun putting lights up outside, decorating the inside, putting wreaths on the windows, etc. And it's snowing today - it's just so pretty outside!!

Well, I know this is short, but I really should be doing some cleaning. I don't even know where to begin, but I would feel better at least just getting SOMETHING done!! Anyways, so sorry for the long delay in posting...I know, I am terrible at this!! I really enjoy reading everyone else's blogs though :)

So I realized that I never posted Landon's Halloween pics (thanks for reminding me Jennifer!!!). I took SOOOO many pictures, but only put a few in a slideshow. He was a dinosaur for Halloween - he was so cute! We were in MA the weekend before Halloween and the local university was throwing a kids Halloween party, so we took Landon and his cousins. They took Landon's picture and it made it in the local paper :)

Landon is going to be a big brother...SURPRISE!!!!!!! Yes, it is really true (I'm still in quite a bit of shock as this was a surprise to us too)!!! I am in my 10th week and due June 15th. We just had our second doctor's appointment last Thursday. I have a picture of the baby, but forgot to bring it downstairs to scan it into the computer, so I will post sometime later. Things are looking good - the baby's heartbeat was 168!!

We are very excited...I was very overwhelmed at first, but after the appointment on Thursday, I've been getting more excited. Landon and his little brother/sister will be 19 months apart. I want my kids to be close in age, I just wasn't expecting it to be that close.

I have to chuckle though because I believe God definitely has a sense of humor. Here it took us SO long to get pregnant with Landon and then with this one, it was so unexpected!!! I am very thankful that we did not have to go through the struggle of infertility again though - God is good!

Well, I want to keep this short - I am exhausted! Landon turned ONE yesterday and we had a fun party with family. I will post more about it later with pictures...I'm still worn out from yesterday. Plus we are all sick with colds, so it hasn't been very fun around here lately!

What's New

I truly wish that I were a more faithful blogger!! I love reading everyone else's blogs, yet I still can't seem to update mine regularly!! Oh well...I'll try to do better :)

I can't believe that it is mid-October already! Landon turned 11 months yesterday...AGH!!!! He is going to be ONE in less than a month!! My little baby is just growing up way too fast!! He is such a joy though...he is almost walking (I say "almost" because even though he can walk, he still likes to crawl). He has been such a sweetie lately!! I think he is understanding things more...like when we aren't pleased with something he does, or when he does something that's good. As sad as it is that he's growing so fast, I love to see him learn and discover things daily!!

We gave him his first hair cut a few weeks ago - that was rough!! My baby's "locks" are all gone!! It turned out really short, but it looks good and he really needed it. I wish I had gotten more pictures, but it's kinda hard when one of us is holding him and the other is cutting his hair...we didn't have any extra hands to take photos.

Today, I must part with my very first car...Genevieve - a silver 1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE. She has decided to die on us and leave us with only one car...which makes things difficult when Jason needs a car to go to work and I am out and about quite often. We knew this day was coming - we've had to have it in the shop almost every month this year and we are swimming in car repairs. Now the fuel pump needs to be replaced (which involves taking apart the entire car to install - $$$$) and we just don't have the money to keep putting into this old car. I am a bit frustrated though - the timing couldn't have been any worse, but I know that the Lord has an answer to everything. His ways are perfect and His timing is best. So tonight we will go trade in (whatever worth it has) and buy something else to get us around for the time being. We have found a car that we are interested in and we've been praying about it for a few days now. Since Tuesday, it dropped $1000 in price, so we are definitely considering it. It is a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero. Jason really likes it a lot!! While it may not be the best of cars, it will keep us off the streets :) :) And for that, I am thankful that we found the car.

Oh, and speaking of things breaking - our digital camera broke!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at my brother's soccer game taking some pictures when suddenly the ball was kicked towards me and in an effort to keep it from hitting my face, I tried to stop it (with camera in hand) and the ball broke the zoom lens. It was going to cost us $100-$140 to have it fixed (not including parts)!! For that much, we were better off just buying a new camera. I really like it - it's fairly decent and I was able to get it on e-bay for a great price...thank you Lord!

It is very rainy today - one of those days you want to just stay in bed and read a good book!! Any of you other mommies of babies/toddlers out there know that it is IMPOSSIBLE for that...but it's a lovely thought!! Maybe I'll try to sneak in some relax time during Landon's nap!!

Well, I will post a few pics of Landon...this weekend we are going to go to the Pumpkin patch, so I'm hoping to get some cute pics!!

Nothing like the great outdoors!

The weather has been beautiful this week and so we have spent a LOT of time outside. Landon absolutely loves to play outside - he is so much happier when he's out there playing :) He loves to play with Smokey, and surprisingly, Smokey likes to play with him too! I think they are going to be great buds :) Anyways, here are a few pictures of Landon playing outside (and some of Smokey too):

Tomorrow we are all going to Dorney Park (the three of us and my family). This will be Landon's first time at an amusement park. Of course, he's too small to go on any rides by himself, but hopefully he'll enjoy the carousel :) I will try to have pictures of our fun day tomorrow!

Landon escapes Mommy Prison!

I have a very adventurous little boy - he's not walking yet, but he knows how to get around and get into everything!! Well, today he escaped from the house!!! Don't worry...I was watching him, taking pictures of it all!! It's such a BEAUTIFUL day here today soI have every window and door open in the house. Well, there is a rip in the screen door that leads out to the deck behind our house - I think Smokey put the rip there when he tried to get in the house one time. Landon discovered it today and thought that he would crawl through it and get outside...what a little stinker :) Here are some pictures of him leaving Mommy Prison :)

Next time I'll have to get it on videotape. He just LOVES the outdoors! Yes, he is only 10-months old and probably doesn't understand much, but he is so much happier when he is outside :) He's going to be just like his daddy!!

My friend Jennifer forwarded this to me (and also posted it in her blog) and I really enjoyed it so I thought I'd copy it in my blog. I am so thankful that God has blessed us with Landon - it is so incredible being a mommy! Many of you know the hard journey we faced with infertility...we never thought that we would ever be able to have children of our own and God was so gracious enough to provide us with our miracle. I am truly blessed and my prayers go out to my friends and others who are still travelling down the heart-breaking road of infertility. I pray that one day they can experience how amazing it is to hold your own child in your arms. OK, before I get choked up, here it is:

Motherly Love Is..............

...pretending that you're already full when your child wants the one cookie left in the box.

...wishing it was you with the stomach flu and not him.

...cluttering up your precious storage space with her baby clothes because you just can't bear to part with them.

...always having his favorite snack in your handbag (and your favorite photo of him tucked in there too).

...accepting the soggy half-eaten cookie she lovingly offers you(and eating it too)

...buying a box of cereal just to get the prize he so desperately wants.

...sitting through an entire Barney DVD because it's her favorite and she wants to share it with you.

...when, even after endless sleepless nights, continuous mounds of laundry and a house that looks like a toy store after a tornado, one little smile is all it takes to melt your heart.

YANKEES GAME!!

Hello everyone - I just thought I'd post some pictures from Landon's first Yankees game. I wish I had taken more, but here are a few good ones:

It was a very nice day, but the sun was VERY hot and of course, we sat in direct sun all day! Landon got a free TY bear (as pictured above) - the first 14,000 kids all got one. Landon did very well the first few innings, but then he got very tired and it was so loud and hot that he had a difficult time sleeping. So gramma and I spent most of the game out in the hallways inside the stadium (where the concession stands are) and we walked and walked and walked with him :) We had a great time though! We had bleacher seats, but we were in the back row which was nice because Landon could play behind us. He loved standing and playing on the bleachers - they were just his height! It was a lot of fun, but we were all very exhausted when we came home :) For little sleep and not eating well, Landon was a very good boy! He loved it! We are looking forward to going again - but maybe to a night game next time :)

We are hoping to relax and get some things done around the house for the rest of today (we don't have church tonight) and we are looking forward to all being home tomorrow because of Labor Day!!

Where has the summer gone?

Hello all...if you are still out there :) I know I haven't updated our blog in a VERY LONG time! This summer has been C-R-A-Z-Y (that is an understatement). But it's been great...I can't believe we're almost into September though - that is just unbelievable!!

So where do I begin? Well, we've gotten to see lots of people this summer...my close friend Sarah and her fiancee Nate came out at the end of July for a visit. We had a big meal one evening with Nate, Shyla, and Jackson; Paul and Danielle; Nate and Sarah; and Jason, Landon and I. It was fun - Landon LOVED playing with Jackson!! Nana and Pops were also just here for a visit. It was nice for us to see them since we don't get to see them often. Landon had grown so much since we saw them last at the beginning of July. We went camping with my family a few weekends ago - that was a lot of fun! This weekend we are going to a Yankees game...it will be Landon's first Yankees game (his first baseball game too). In a few weeks we will be going to Dorney Park with my family. We may also be going up to MA for the 50th wedding anniversary of one of me relatives. We've also been very busy with different things going on in our church. But it's been a good summer!

Landon has really grown up in the past month. He is crawling EVERYWHERE and pulling himself up and getting into a LOT of things :) He can walk if you hold his hands; he'll even walk if you hold just one of his hands. But he's still a little unstable, so I think it will still be a few weeks before he's walking on his own. Plus, he LOVES to crawl...so I don't think he's in any rush to learn how to walk. He has recently added new babbles and words to his dictionary! He talks NON-STOP now :) It is just so fun to "listen" to him "talk" - he loves to carry on a conversation with you! He also likes to copy/mimick sounds that you make...if I cluck my tongue, he'll cluck his; if I smack my lips, he'll smack his; if I blow bubbles, he'll blow bubbles too! It's so fun...he's just at a really fun stage!!

My business with Southern Living is going pretty well. I didn't have many parties this summer, but partly due to the fact that we have been really busy. I've really enjoyed it though and it's been a great little "hobby" - plus, I just love their products, so I love the opportunity to add to my collection!!

We've had LOTS of babies born lately. My cousin Darcy and her husband Steve just welcomed their first little baby to the world - Liam Keene Riggs was born August 5. And two of my friends, Shyla and Ginny, just welcomed baby boys into the world! My sister-in-law is due in 2 months witha girl (she actually started labor last night...not good), Jason's cousin is due shortly after her with a boy, and my cousin's wife is due with a boy around that time too! A co-worker of mine is also due mid-October with a boy. LOTS of baby news (and lots of BOYS)...some of it makes me want to have another one :) I wouldn't mind having another baby, but just the thought of being pregnant again makes me want to cry! So we'll see...I guess we'll see what happens!

We're back!

We're back from vacation...YAY!! It was nice to get away and see some family, but as always, there's no place like home! Landon did pretty well - he did NOT enjoy sleeping in his pack-n-play, but he absolutely LOVED having his cousins to play with!! We went to the family lakehouse at White's Pond, MA. It was VERY hot and only one room in the house was air-conditioned!! Needless to say, we spent a LOT of time in that room! Here are some pictures from our vacation:

The first picture is of Landon and his Pops; the second is of Landon taking a bath in the sink of the lakehouse; the third is a picture of Landon and his cousins Sasha and Sierra; the fourth is a picture of Landon watching alpacas at an Alpaca farm; the fifth is a picture of Landon and his cousin Sierra; the sixth is of Landon and his cousin Sasha.

Landon continues to grow like a weed! He now has two front lower teeth and he's cutting his upper teeth - we can see one almost about to poke through. He started crawling last Sunday, so he is all over the place now! It is SO cute to watch him crawl...he gets so excited and all you hear is the little pitter-patter of his hands :) He is just so much fun to watch!! In just a couple of weeks, he's going to be 9 months - AGH!! Where has the time gone?

We are enjoying our summer. Jason has been busy with our garden. It's done fairly well, so we're happy for that. We have lots of cucumbers and beans and peas right now. There are a gazillion tomatoes, but they are still green. We have green peppers that are looking very nice. And then there is the corn and the lettuce - but they aren't ready yet.

ARGH - I know, it's been awhile!

OK, so things have been super busy and I know I need to blog more often, but it's been so busy! So if any of you still read this, I'll write a quick update :)

We are doing well! Landon is growing up SOOOOO quickly!!! I just fall in love with him more and more each day! He is truly such a blessing and I am so thankful that God blessed us with this amazing little boy. His first tooth came in on Monday and his second one came in yesterday. So he isn't a very happy camper right now, cutting two teeth. But he has been doing pretty well! He is still an amazing sleeper and I am a very lucky mama!! He sleeps from like 8:30 at night until 7:45ish the next morning - it's awesome. And he usually takes a 2 hour morning and afternoon nap. I know it won't always be this great, but I'm pretty fortunate for the time-being.

This summer has gone well! Landon keeps me busy. I am also now a Southern Living consultant and I love it! I haven't had many parties yet, but that is my choice. I want to do this part-time only, so it's nice that I can do it as much or as little as I like. I really enjoy it! I LOVE their products and I've loved getting out of the house on occasion and getting to meet new people!

We are leaving next Friday to go to the lakehouse in MA. We are really looking forward to seeing family and also enjoying a bit of a relaxing vacation. Hopefully Landon will do well! He didn't do well on our last road trip to NY, but hopefully this one will go a little better.

I've been tagged by Ginny, so here goes...I'm supposed to give 8 random facts about myself, right? Well, let's see if I can even think of eight...here goes:

1) I HATED chocolate when I was a child - my mom would make a separate bowl of chocolate chip cookies just for me...they didn't have chocolate chips in them, so I guess they wouldn't be called chocolate chip cookies, would they?

2) I have a big gap between my big toe and the next toe (whatever it's called).

3) I used to get in trouble all the time when I was younger for making prank calls...but then again, that carried on over to college because we did it all the time :)

4) I dated two guys at the same time...AGH!!! But it was only for like a day or two...this is starting to turn into a confessional!

5) I refuse to walk over the grated things on sidewalks and roads...manholes or vents or whatever. I'm scared that one day I will fall in. Jason makes fun of me all the time.

6) When they would give the weather report and mention "wind chill" - I ALWAYS thought they said "windshield" - not really funny, except that it wasn't too long ago that I figured out that they were really saying WIND CHILL...oops!!

7) I get made fun of because I never say that "g" on words that end in -ing or -ang or -ong or any -ng's :)

8) I can't believe I made it this far...they are all pretty random things though...hmmm, an eighth? I was born in the same hospital as my high school history teacher, Mr. Randy Stone - my teacher at High Point in Geigertown, PA. And that hospital was in Cortland, NY.

I would like to announce...

that I am now a Southern Living at HOME Independent Consultant!! I will be having my first business launch party on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. so please pray that all goes well! And, if you are local, please feel free to attend! I am very excited about this new opportunity, but at the same time, a little nervous! I just hope everything takes off well - you just never know and I'm not a huge risk-taker, so it's a bit nerve-wracking! I love Southern Living products though and I think this is something I will enjoy! Hopefully I'll have a website up and running within the next few weeks, so when I do, I'll post the web address and you'll have to take a look!

Landon is going to be SIX MONTHS tomorrow!! Where has the time gone? He is just more fun each day! He is sitting all by himself now (although, I don't usually go too far because sometimes he gets excited and falls backwards). He is really a fun boy and I love how he's so responsive now!! He goes for his 6-month check-up and shots this Friday - hopefully it will all go well!!

We are getting down to the end with American Idol...I'm really hoping that the final two are Melinda and Jordin...they are my favorites! I just haven't been impressed with Lakisha lately and I'm not sure how Blake will hold up against the other girls. So we'll see who goes home tonight!! It shall be interesting!

The month of May has been flying right by! My brother, Jordan, has a birthday today...HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JORDAN!! Jason's parents will be coming up for Memorial Day weekend, so we are looking forward to that. Jason may be going up next weekend to MA to help his uncle with a few things around his house. It's crazy how time is just going so quickly...life just never slows down!

Well, I have a ton of invitations to write out, so I better get started while Landon is sleeping :) Hope everyone is doing well!

Oops...it's been awhile!

So sorry for the delay - I've been caught up in so many things lately that I just haven't had much time to really post anything!

Landon has now become Mr. Roly-Poly - all he does is just roll around EVERYWHERE! It's really cute, but we really have to keep an eye on him now! I can't imagine what it's going to be like when he starts crawling and walking...AGH!! He is sitting very well, although he's not quite ready to be left alone on the floor...sometimes he gets a little tipsy :) We just started him on some baby food from the jar and he's done pretty well. He HATES green beans (just like his mama), but he loves peas, applesauce, and a new one today: pears! He's growing up so fast though...he is so full of giggles and smiles, he is such a joy!

Not much has been new around here. I've been working the past 3 Saturdays in a row, so this will be my first one that I don't have to work - YAY! We are planning to get our garden started this weekend. We started some of the plants indoors and they are doing really well! It will be interesting to see if our garden turns out well! Neither Jason or I have the greatest green thumbs, but we are learning!

Landon has been sleeping MUCH better - I am afraid that it's not going to last though because it's almost too good to be true! He sleeps through the night now - from about 8:30/9:00pm - 7:00am. And he's been taking 1.5-2 hour naps in the morning and in the afternoon. He's been doing really well, but I'm sure it won't last forever. He has a little bit of a cough - I'm not sure how he got it...we've been so careful with him! I don't know if he picked it up from the nursery or if it's the nasty weather again (rain, rain, rain), but hopefully it will go away quickly.

Hooray!! Sanjaya has been voted off American Idol!! I didn't think we'd ever see this day...America will now be a better place now that we can all get back to our daily routine - especially the girl who went on an eating binge until he got voted off (she must be STARVING) or the guy who has been living in a tent on top of a radio station's office (hope he survived the Noreaster!).

I have more to write, but it's getting late and I will write more some other time...just had to celebrate this momentuous day!

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter everyone...a few days early! Landon had his first Easter egg hunt last weekend. Jason's employer, Penske, rented out a local baseball stadium and held a little egg hunt for the kids of employees. So we took Landon, all dressed up in a cute bunny suit. We didn't think he'd do anything, but when we put him down in front of an egg, he picked it up and put it right in his mouth!! It was cute to watch him...he picked up about 4 eggs, but unfortunately an older boy came by and took them all from him (although, I took one back...he had to take at least ONE home!). Anyways, here is a little slide show of his Easter egg hunt:

He is feeling MUCH better...thank goodness - he is pretty much over what he had. I had it pretty badly for a few days, but I'm just slightly congested now, so that's good. And thankfully, daddy didn't get it either.

We are having a good time with daddy home from work today! We had movie night at gramma and grampa's house last night and we ended up staying the night since it was so late and we didn't want to drive back. Now Uncle Jordan is at our house and he's going to spend the night and then we're all going out bowling tomorrow...fun, fun! So, it should be a fun weekend!

Please pray for my little car...it's the first car I've ever owned (I got bought it used right out of college); but it is really falling apart and we really need it to work for us!!! Car problems are not fun at all!! Sometimes it would be nice if money grew on trees! Anyways, it needs many repairs at the moment and we're just not sure what to do with it, so hopefully we will get some sort of answer soon!

Well, Jason and Jordan are taking a break from X-box, so I better go spend some time with them while Landon is sleeping :) Hope you all have a great weekend!

The sickies have hit our house :(

Yup, my little baby boy is SICK!! He has been sick since last Friday and I have now gotten it. I took him to the pediatrician on Tuesday because he was vomitting (from coughing so much) and had diarrhea and was very congested. So he has a virus...they gave us a nebulizer because he was wheezing (sp?) and it has worked WONDERS! He is starting to get much better...we go back tomorrow for a check-up. No one told me how sad and heart-breaking it is to watch your baby/child be sick. I was in tears so many times because it just broke me heart. And it's hard when they are this young because there just isn't anything you can do or give them besides lots of love and care...and he got lots of that! I'm so glad that he's starting to get a little better. He still has a yucky cough and runny nose, but he is starting to keep stuff down and he's acting much more like himself. I'll put a picture of him doing his nebulizer below...he is such a good boy with it. His nebulizer is a penguin (you'll see in the pic) and it comes with an igloo carrier to store it in. Thank goodness they now come with a paci attachment because the mask kinda scares him. Anyways, here's the picture of my sick little boy...he's actually pretty happy in the pic:

So besides being sick, everything else is going well. So far, daddy hasn't gotten it, so hopefully he'll stay nice and healthy!!

OK America, what is going on with American Idol. First off, Sanjaya's hair...what in the world? Great, now he's going to start getting "hair" votes. This is a message to all of you voting for Sanjaya...I am going to hunt you down and steal your phones. I was sad to see Chris go - I know he didn't do well this week, but like my good friend Amy said, he has one bad week and goes, but Haley, Sanjaya, and others can have multiple bad weeks and yet they stay? As much as I am addicted to this show and enjoy watching it from week to week, it really is disappointing that it is no longer a singing competition. I think the judge's should vote and their votes should take up a certain percentage of all total votes. Or maybe we should vote for who is the WORST. I don't know...I'm just not sure how much longer this show will continue to run with the way voting has been. Oh well...as long as Melinda doesn't get voted off, I'm OK, but I really wish Sanjaya would get the boot!

Well, I know this is a little short, but I am not feeling well and I'm sure Landon will be waking up soon and then it's time to give him a bath, feed him and then tuck him in for the night (hopefully he'll sleep well so I can catch up on some much-needed rest).

It's been awhile...

Landon went for his 4-month shots this past Friday (although he was a little over 4 months). He did OK, but he definitely does NOT like those needles, but who does? He was a little off for a few days, just not quite himself. He weighs 14 pounds and 1 ounce and he is now 25.5 inches long! He's a long skinny boy!! He is doing very well though and we are SO thankful for a very healthy beautiful boy.

Our pediatrician told us to start him on cereal - he has not been nursing well (bad nurser = low supply) and the pediatrician said it is time. So we have started him on it (GASP, I know, it's early). It has been pretty messy - here is a picture from the other day. It's not the greatest picture though because I took it with one hand while I was holding him.

He is so fun! He is still trying to learn how to get it off the spoon - he usually licks it, but he's starting to get the hang of it a little more each time.

For those of you who are local, you'll remember that the weather was TERRIBLE that day (Friday). Well, I decided to go to his appointment anyways because the pediatrician is like 2 miles away and I didn't think the roads were that bad. I was wrong and I ended up hitting a bank and stuck in a ditch. I was only going like 15 mph on a FLAT road - I was even behind a school bus, so I definitely wasn't going too fast. I must've just hit a bad spot. After about 20 people drove by, two guys in a truck finally helped pull/push me out. They were just driving around helping people out of ditches...it was very nice of them. We were fine, but our SUV needs a little fix. I'm just thankful that no one else was coming in the opposing lane or I would've hit them head on and who knows what could've happened! I'm so thankful that it was not worse.

OK, so American Idol chat. Last night was pretty interesting, but I have to say that the funniest part of the entire show was watching that girl sob her eyes out the entire time! I laughed harder and harder each time they kept showing her - how funny was that? I really hope that Haley, Sanjaya, and Phil are in the bottom three tonight...I'm also not a Gina fan. I've gotta say, I'm rooting for Melinda, but I also like Chris Sligh, Blake, and Jordin. I like Lakisha too, but her song last night was weird and the whole thing was just a little odd. The rest can go home :) So we'll see what happens tonight.

Well, he is finally down for his afternoon nap, so I better go get some cleaning done. Hope everyone is doing well!

It's BEAUTIFUL outside!!

Today has been such a beautiful day...well, it's supposed to rain soon, but earlier we had some fantastic weather! Landon and I went on a nice walk, it was so good to get out!! Landon really enjoyed being outdoors. When we got back, we went out on the deck and he played in his bouncy seat for quite awhile. Now he is zonked out and sleeping away in his crib (YAY!!).

Landon turned 4 months old this past Saturday - I can't believe how quickly he is growing. He is so much fun!! He is really "talking" now and he's making new sounds and "words" - he likes to say "bleh" a lot, he really puts the B and the L together very well!! He is really holding himself up well...he can sit very well with just a little support. He still isn't sleeping the greatest, but he is taking slightly longer naps, so that is nice. Last night he slept from 10:00-8:15 and got up once to eat. So that was really nice. He goes for his shots on Friday...UGH!!

Well, let's see...AMERICAN IDOL...I was pretty disappointed last night. Did anyone find it hilarious that Paula just could not contain herself - goodness, was she awfully emotional!! I was a little disappointed with my two favorite guys...Brandon and Chris S. - they did not pull through well at all. BUT, Melinda and Lakisha were amazing once again and I think it will be down to those two in the end. Please America, send Sanjaya and Haley home - I think one of those two should definitely go home tonight. However, I think the entire country of India is voting for Sanjaya (can someone cut their phone lines?), but hopefully Haley doesn't have as much luck. We'll see tonight!

Hooray for Friday!

Well, I am having posting problems again...I think it's my computer - I am getting errors on the page when I try to post. Anyways, I'm here at work this morning, so I thought I would post really quick.

OK, first of all, AMERICAN IDOL. Well, I have mixed emotions...I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO extremely incredibly wonderfully definitely fantasticly excitedly glad that Antonella got the boot! It's about time!! However, Sabrina? There is NO way she should've been sent home - I think Haley should've gone first. And for the guys, how on earth is Sanjaya still in the running? I think all of India is voting for him and unless America steps up their votes for all of the other contestants besides him, I've got this gut-wrenching feeling that he will be there for a while. I was sad to see Jared go...he wasn't the greatest, but definitely better than Sanjaya and Phil. As for Sundance, well, he was going to go soon, but I didn't expect it to be this week. My votes are for Melinda, Lakisha, Chris Sligh, and Brandon. So we'll see.

Apparently I spoke too soon regarding Landon's great sleeping habits because all week he has been sleeping TERRIBLY at night! It's been a little frustrating. He went from sleeping through the night to getting up TWICE!!! And he isn't sleeping well during the day and he refuses to nurse. So, it's been a pretty frustrating week for me...it's sent me to tears a few times. He goes to the pediatrician for his 4-month check-up/shots next week, so I'm hoping maybe the pediatrician can give me some insight. Nana is here this week which is a huge blessing to have someone else hold and take care of him so I can get a little bit of a break. He is still truly a bundle of joy - he can just be a handful sometimes :)

Well, I really need to get some work done, but I wanted to post while I was here in case I can't get it to work at home. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

It's finally working - woo-hoo!

For a few days, I just couldn't get blogger to work for me...it was weird. So I'm a few days behind. I had a blog all typed out and lost it, so when I re-typed it, I saved it this time and good thing I did because my blog wasn't working right and I lost it again...thank goodness for COPY AND PASTE!

Anyways...American Idol. OK, something must be wrong because ANTONELLA is still in the running!! What in the world? I definitely think Alaina was right to go, but I think Antonella and Sanjaya should've gone too! I am just NOT an Antonella fan - I don't think she sings well and I agree with Shyla, she edged out Bailey Brown, who I thought was fantastic!! Well, we'll see how things go next week. I'm not sure I can take another week of Antonella!

Landon has still been sleeping pretty well. One night this week, he slept from 9:30-6:30!! It was awesome. I think we're starting to get somewhere. Now we just have to get naps down, but even that is going much better!

He has been so smiley lately - I am going to post a slide show below of some pictures of him over the past week. I just love him to pieces!! I am so thankful for what a blessing he is - God has been so good to us and I couldn't ask for anything more.

We have finally finished painting the bedroom. Once it's put together, I will post pictures. We have now started to take things down in the living room to re-paint that. When we first moved into our house, it was all PINK...carpet, walls, everything. Then we painted it to a light gold yellow. I wasn't really in love with the color though, so now we're re-painting it again. We are just going to paint it a very neutral color...a khaki/beige color. We've painted this color before and have been happy with it, so hopefully this is the last time we'll be repainting our living room. Now we know colors we like and don't like.

This week, Nana is coming to visit. Dr. David Jeremiah is going to be at the Sovereign Center and Nana is coming down to go see him, so she'll be here for a few days. Landon hasn't seen his Nana since January, so it will be good to see her again.

Well, I've got lots to do, but I thought I'd quick post something now that blogger seems to be working for me. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

It's getting late, but I'm wide awake...

Yup, my two "boys" are tucked in and sound asleep, but I just can't seem to sleep! It's probably because I decided to take a very late afternoon nap with Landon today. Oh well, hopefully typing will make me sleepy!!

Landon had another AWESOME night last night! He slept from 9:30 - 5:30 and then ate and slept again until 8:15! Mommy was VERY happy :) He had a rough day with naps though. It was kind of an "off" day because I had errands to run, so maybe that contributed to his lack of naps!

Well, I just finished watching the girls on American Idol tonight. Goodness please, Antonella REALLY needs to go home...especially with everything going on with her in the news!!! She should've gone home last week. I think Alaina also needs to go home...I think those two were the worst tonight. Lakisha and Melinda were by far the best tonight!! They did awesome! As far as the guys, I still don't have any favorites, but I think Sanjaya did terrible, however I don't think he'll go home. I thought Chris did well and so did Blake...how cool was Blake? All those little boo-bop-beep thingys - there's a term for it. Anyways, looking forward to tomorrow night to see who goes home! And can I just say that I love Simon? I think he is always right on when it comes to judging. He may be a little "harsh" at times, but for the most part, I agree with everything he says - am I the only one?

Landon has been so much fun the past few days - I don't know if he's just happier because he's sleeping better at night or what, but he is just loads of fun!! He is SOOOOOOO smiley and he really likes to "talk" and hear himself!! He's just growing up so fast...he'll be 4 months in about a week and a half! Right now, his thing is blowing bubbles - it is so cute! Oh, and he's such a big boy now - he likes to grab his bottle and put it in his mouth himself (most of the time he just bonks it on his nose). He can hold it himself for the most part though...pretty impressive since he usually doesn't get a bottle. He's a smart little guy.

Well, I'm still not tired, but I'm running out of things to say - maybe I'll go return a few e-mails! Talk to you later!

YAY - two good nights in a row!

Landon has had two fairly good night's in a row...YAY!! He had been sleeping in a bassinet in our room, but two night's ago, we finally decided to move him to his crib. We figured he hadn't been sleeping well anyways, we might-as-well make the switch now (assuming he'd have a hard time adjusting). Well, he proved us wrong and he has slept GREAT for the past two nights in his room. On Saturday night, he only got up once and last night, he only got up twice (his foot got stuck in his pajamas, but once we fixed it, he went right back to sleep). I am SOOOOOO happy! Hopefully it's not just luck and he'll continue to sleep a little better. He had a great weekend as far as napping goes too! We are very happy! (knock on wood)

Yesterday, Jason and I started painting our bedroom...it's almost finished. It's funny how it all worked out. We had a can of paint in our basement - it's a dark olive color - it's called Battlefield Brown. So we thought we'd paint our bedroom that color...we both wanted something kinda dark and warm. Well, we didn't have any bedding to go with it or anything. So we went out on Saturday and decided to stop at Bed Bath and Beyond. As we were leaving, we figured we'd check out their big clearance aisles. We found a Nautica comforter that we both LOVE and it looked like it would match the paint color. It was marked down half price and had an additional 30% off!!!! We were so excited. We brought it home and it matches the paint almost perfectly! So now we are trying to get the bedroom put together. I will have to post pics when it's done. The walls are a little darker than I'd usually prefer, but our room gets a lot of sunlight, and I wanted our bedroom to be a little darker and warm. So anyways, that was our bargain for the weekend...leftover paint and discounted bedding and bada-bing, we've got a new bedroom :)

Well, today is another day of work...both of my bosses are out today, so I don't have a ton of work today. Hopefully the day goes quickly!

I just did my first slide show...and I figured it all out myself. I had a little bit of a hard time figuring out how to make it on slide.com - I still don't know how to add photos to an existing slide show. Oh well, one of these days when I have time, I'll try to figure it out. Here it is:

I'm so glad today was Friday. Even though I'm a stay-at-home mom, I still look forward to the weekends when Jason is home and we can have a weekend together as a family.

Well, as far as American Idol goes, my local girl Nicole went home...I didn't think she was that great the other night, but I was rooting for her since she's from here. I was a little surprised that she went before some of the other girls...I think Antonella and Alaina should've gone before her - they weren't that great. I'm not surprised with the guys...I think most of them should go home. Well, looking forward to Tuesday!

Landon has NOT been sleeping well the past few nights and it's been very exhausting! I don't know if he's going through a growth spurt or not, but he was up every 4 hours last night!! He hasn't done that in SEVERAL weeks. I really hope he sleeps well tonight, I have to work a few hours tomorrow morning and I need my sleep!

Well, I'm off to do some cleaning then I'm going to bed...goodnight!

American Idol

OK, American Idol fans, it's that time of year again...YAY!!! Well, the boys, oh goodness, the boys...they were all TERRIBLE!!! I don't have any favs yet - I was pretty disappointed that night, but hopefully they all just had a bad case of stage fright. I do think that Chris Bligh is HILARIOUS!!! Now to the girls, WOW - SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better!!! I think several of them were incredible, but I can't remember some names. There are three that I think may have a chance of going home tonight: Antonella, Amy Krebs, and the girl who cries a lot. I don't know though, the beauty card might keep them in for another week or so. I have to root for Nicole too, she is a local and I can't remember a local making it to the top 24 before (at least since I've been watching it). I'm thinking this year's American Idol is going to be a GIRL...the guys better start working their tails off. But then again, it's in the hands of America and you never know what can happen. Speaking of, I think the judges should have a percentage of a vote so we avoid another disaster American Idol Taylor Hicks again (sorry, huge Chris Daughty fan). Well, that's enough Idol talk for now.

I am EXHAUSTED today - Landon slept TERRIBLY last night...it has been so long since he has slept that terribly. I'm hoping he takes some good naps today so mommy can sneak a nap or two! I don't know, we're still having naptime troubles - GRRR!! He is still a precious little boy.

Happy President's Day!

Well, we finally got Landon's 3-month portraits taken. As posted below, we were supposed to go out to Allentown (about a 45-min. drive) to have them taken. For those of you who are local, I-78 was a MESS!! So, we called on our way out there to see if they would still take us if we were late. Our appointment was at 6:00 and she said we had until 6:15 to show up. So we took some back roads and thought for sure we would make it on time. Wouldn't you know that at 6:15, we were five minutes away :( So we had to turn around and go home...it took us TWO hours to get home (and with no portraits taken). It was very frustrating...3 hours of driving for NOTHING. So we ended up just taking him to Sears the next morning. We paid more than we wanted too, but they did a great job. Landon is getting so big!! He is so much fun and we love him to pieces. Today, I had to work, but Jason had the day off, so Landon got to spend the day with daddy today!! He did pretty well...now daddy knows how frustrating it is for mommy when Landon doesn't want to take a nap!! Oh well...daddy survived!

More baby news - we were shocked to find out that Landon is going to have another cousin (and certainly not from my side). Jason's brother, Kevin, and his wife Amanda will be expecting a baby...CONGRATS Kevin and Amanda!! Despite all this baby news, I'm still not ready for another one :)

Well, it's been a long day and I've missed my baby boy, so I'm off to go spend some time with him!

BRRRRRR!!!!!

It is COLD outside today :) We still have lots of snow around, but the roads are clearing up!! Have you all heard of the huge mess on I-78? Unbelievable!

Tonight we are taking Landon to get his 3-month photos taken...I hope he cooperates and we can get some good photos! He has been so funny lately...he continues to try to "giggle" - it's the cutest thing ever. And now he has this thing that when you blow bubbles at him, he'll do it right back. This can go on for several minutes, it's pretty funny!

We just found out today that my cousin and her husband, Steve and Darcy, are expecting a baby due mid-August! YAY - we are thrilled!!! CONGRATS Steve and Darcy!! We also found out that our friend's Josh and Ginny are expecting also!! YAY...CONGRATS Josh and Ginny (their blog is listed on the left). There's been so much baby news lately...and NO, we are NOT getting any ideas!!! I'm perfectly content with ONE for now, and for awhile, I'm sure!!

Our new family blog!

Welcome to our new family blog...we have changed from our old infertility blog to this new family blog. Let's hope that we can keep it updated more regularly than our other blog :)

Landon turned 3 months this past Saturday - he is growing up way too fast. He is such a joy in our lives and we just love every minute we have with him. He is holding his head up really well - he loves to look around. He is smiling ALL the time...he is a very happy baby!! He has just started to learn how to giggle...on Sunday night - it caught us by surprise and it was just adorable. He loves to "talk" in his little cooing voice and he loves when people talk to him! He is really a good baby. We are having a bit of a hard time working on naptime though. He takes about two catnaps in the morning and then one long nap in the afternoon. He sleeps through the night (7 hours) occasionally, but most of the time he gets up once. We are trying to get him on some sort of schedule, but it has been a little rough. Anyways, here are a few recent pics of him:

Not much else is new. Today is a snow day for Jason...we got lots of snow at our house and so he was able to stay home from work. It was nice to stay home together as a family on a weekday!! We played a few games of scrabble...of course Jason won...and we baked a heart cake for Valentine's Day. This is our 4th Valentine's Day together as a married couple!

Well, Landon is about to wake up from his afternoon nap (he's been down for almost 2 hours now...YAY). Bye for now!
